FAQ

What is a zine?
A zine is a compilation of art and/or writing, digitally released, or printed in book form, usually centered around a certain topic or theme. Writers and artists interested in contributing to the zine apply and are then given a time frame to create a piece or pieces for the zine, which are then published. If the zine is sold, the profits are either shared among contributors (for-profit) or given to charity.

Is this project for charity or for profit?
This will be a pay-as-you-want zine for charity! A minimum donation of $5 was chosen via our twitter poll. We also held a poll to decide which domestic violence relief organization to donate to. Break the Silence Against Domestic Violence received the most votes, so all proceeds will be donated to BTSADV.

Who are the mods?
The zine is modded by Noël, Kiro, Rain and Raven.

Will there be physical copies of the zine?
No, sorry! Unfortunately this zine will only be available in digital format.

Will there be merch?
Yes, we plan to offer digital merchandise with the zine.

What is the theme of the zine?
This zine will focus on the Shiratorizawa team members by showcasing different eras of fashion.

Will there be any NSFW/18+ themes?
No. This will be strictly SFW for minor consumption.

How many contributors will you be accepting?
For numbers of contributors, we aim for 18-30 artists (merch/collab included), and 10 writers. However, this can change depending on the overall number of apps received.

Does my application need to include Shiratorizawa related pieces?
For artists it is appreciated but not mandatory. For writers, you do not need a Shiratorizawa related piece specifically, but we do require at least one Haikyuu related work. Overall, we highly encourage you to present your best pieces, and we look forward to viewing your work!

What are you looking for in the applications?
For artists we are looking for character focused art, examples of detailed clothing, style, and anatomy. You do not need to have fancy or meticulous backgrounds, as we are only looking for flat to minimal background coloring so that the fashion and characters will stand out. For writers we will look at characterization, writing style, grammar, and sentence flow/structure. Feel free to check out our applicant guidelines for in depth coverage of what we expect for the applications.

Will you be sending out rejection emails?
Absolutely! We believe everyone is entitled to one.
